Okay, as you can see, today we have lots of your next barman and strings in front of us
0:08
So I'm going to give you quite an introduction of what they are. And we're going to split them into different categories
0:14
And then I'll go through each of them and tell you how they feel. And lastly, we will also feel and hear how they sound at 24 and 30 pounds in tension
0:26
So strings, barminous strings comes in two. types of traditional packaging. So the first one would be your usual pack and this would be for
0:35
10 meters. 10 meters would be enough for one single racket or they would come in packs or of
0:42
reels I guess and these reels typically come in 200 meters which most stringers would have and they'll
0:48
be able to string to sometimes 22 rackets depending on how they use their string. We also have
0:53
a hybrid an official pack of hybrid string with us so the onyx aerobite and
0:59
aerabyte boost from here. So they are a mixture of string. So you have different strings for
1:06
your mains and your crosses and so your next also have them in a reel as well. So
1:11
they also come in different strings as you can see different colors red and white. So
1:16
your next bobbin and strings comes in four typical major categories. So as you
1:20
can see here you have durability, repulsion power, hitting sound and control. And so
1:25
all of them are separated into different categories and then then they do have similarities. So for example, I would consider BG80 as a control type of string
1:36
but it also has very good repulsion power feel, very crisp, and that's why I believe perhaps
1:41
they put in the repulsion section. BG68TI, this is really old string for hitting
1:48
power, for hitting sound. However, nowadays, any thin string would have an amazing hitting sound
1:55
and plus if you hit it right, they always sound good anyway, so I'm not sure. For hitting the
1:59
sound is a really old category. They don't add new strings into that category anymore
2:04
Control is Yonix's latest availability in terms of category. And so for example
2:09
aerabyte, error by, error by boost, even nanogen 99 as well as the sky arc. These are
2:15
all newer strings in comparison to said old school legends, BG 80, BG 65, 65TI
2:21
Okay, so now that we've known the four categories, I'm gonna start with the
2:26
durability category and then we'll go through them one by one there. So in terms of durability, we have these three here
2:34
So these two are long-standing 65 and 65 Ti are really long-standing strings
2:40
They have been around for ages and they're really, really popular worldwide
2:44
Nanjing 95 is slightly more modern string. I think it came out at the same time as around the art savers, but still super popular
2:51
very, very durable. These three are absolutely true to their word. They are extremely durable strings
2:59
If you're all out durability, go for these guys. But also at the same time, in terms of packaging, you can actually tell that here on BG 65, 65TI, you know, you have the soft feeling, medium feeling and hard feeling
3:11
Okay, so what we're going to do now is I'm going to cut these packs open and tell you how they feel
3:16
So behind every string pack, you can actually see this. There is a ratings star besides explaining a little bit of explanation about what category they are as well as what it's special
3:29
So for example, in terms of BG 65, you can see that it's specialising in durability
3:35
unsurprisingly, but then it doesn't have a lot of control or a lot of repulsion power
3:40
including shock absorptions. So this is really a standard, bulk standard durability type of string
3:46
Whereas if you look at the Nanag 95, you can see that there's a lot of repulsion power
3:51
well, there's a lot more in comparison to the BG65 in terms of this rating star
3:56
but also having good amount of durability. And here, in comparison to the 65, the 65 Ti, has a bit more repulting power and also slightly
4:06
better hitting sound, I guess, but is really poor in control. Okay, so we start with looking at BG65 and now that I've cut the string out of the pack
4:18
and as a stringer, you can feel that BG 65 is quite smooth on the top
4:22
It doesn't, on the texture, the texture of the string is actually quite smooth. it doesn't have a lot of texture nor it is sticky so it's actually quite nice to string
4:31
with and yes the string is 0.7 mil so it's pretty thick in modern bammatin string terms um
4:38
in terms of hitting feel yes this thing is actually quite soft it feels quite soft it doesn't
4:43
have that very crisp feeling until you get it to really really high tensions however
4:50
it is a very durable string so what i'm going to do now is put a side of the string on the string
4:55
on the string machine and test them at 24 and 30 pounds in tension and so
5:00
strum it so you guys can listen and hear what the string sounds like we go to
5:10
its cousin the bg 65 ti bg 65 ti is very popular with the professionals
5:16
bg 65 feels a lot harder so it feels a lot crisper than bg 65 also at the same
5:22
time they are extremely durable so they really good so consistent at high tension that actually what I want to say Slightly a bit more texture in comparison to 65 It feels quite crisp Still very nice very easy string to string with
5:40
Absolutely no problem in terms of a stringer's perspective. Okay, we now go on to probably the more premium version for the premium string for the durable
5:55
section, the nanogyn 95. Nanogy 95, I used to play with it a fair bit and I found that
6:03
it's a slippery string, however very very durable. So on that sense it actually is not too bad
6:12
So like I mentioned before, the Nanogyn 95, although from here you can feel that it's got
6:19
quite similar textures to the 65 Ti, but when playing it's really
6:25
slippery. It sounds a lot better than the 65, somewhat maybe perhaps similar to the 65
6:32
Ti at certain tensions, slightly higher tensions, but in terms of durability, this thing is
6:38
absolutely amazing. So if you want a super durable string, but you don't mind it being quite
6:41
slippery, this is amazing. So the next string type that I like to talk about is the
6:51
repulsion power. So here you can actually see we have 6. This is, so the Ex-Bolt 63 is the latest packaging type in terms of repulsion strings
7:03
And here it actually says it's quick repulsion instead of repulsion only, but that's okay
7:08
And here it also says that it uses bio-based materials for its packaging. So I guess that's a win in terms of plastic waste
7:14
And here you can actually see that we have quite a few BG-66 strings
7:19
Let's split the BG-66sus in comparison to the rest of the group because
7:25
the rest of the group do feel quite different to them. So let's open up and see how they feel
7:31
So BG66 Ultimax, I string it a lot. It is quite slippery in terms of play and feel, but it is one of the more
7:44
popular strings that I go through. Texture wise, it's it's smooth. It's pretty smooth. It has a little
7:51
bits of texture. You can actually see that it has some texture. In terms of feel, it's feel. It's
7:55
very very pingy it doesn't feel very hard so medium feeling is actually on point
8:01
slightly more slippery than most of the strings but they sound absolutely amazing
8:07
and if you string them at decent tension and you hit hard and with clean
8:12
technique they will sound absolutely amazing so immediately they both have
8:23
half the same diameter again so here in terms of texture and feeling right out of the
8:30
pack this is smoother than the 66 ultimax slightly this one has slightly a bit more
8:36
texture in comparison to the 66 force personally I don't feel like there's a lot of
8:43
difference between these two so if you're someone who likes high repulsion
8:48
string this is an amazing option to go for I find whichever one that is cheapest for you
8:53
wherever you are they're both very very good options so if we then go to the normal 66
9:04
look at the amazing color again from here hopefully you can see this from the top down cam
9:10
this is an amazing color if only they do it in a reel um yeah so this color is absolutely amazing
9:16
amazing i absolutely love it in terms of texture again so it's a bit more similar to the ultimax um
9:23
but I would also consider the string to be quite smooth. Okay, so now we move these three up and then we go with the rest of the quick repulsion crew here
9:38
Let's start with the legendary BG80. So BG80 is slightly thicker than the 66 and Ultimaxes
9:46
And then we have the new new kit on the block which is the X-Bopt 63, thinness out of the block
9:53
And then we have this guy, which launched about the same time as the ogy 95
9:59
This was my previous favorite string for a long, long time. I went through a lot of it
10:05
I'll talk about it later on. Let's start with the OG legend BG 80
10:11
So BG80, rough string, a lot of texture, a lot of bite, steady, and decent repulsion power as well
10:19
So that's why super popular super famous worldwide Yep immediately super nice bright yellow color in this one
10:27
You take it out and yes you can feel That's a lot of texture in comparison to the rest of them
10:34
So so far we've gone through this is our seventh string so far And this one by far has the most texture
10:41
BG80 certainly a lot stiffer than the thinner strings And yeah it feels steady it's got lots of texture
10:49
It's got lots of bite onto the shuttle. Sounds good. Sounds actually quite good for a string Very crisp and it has that pop Okay so X 63 the latest kid on the block I think it was launched 2020 or 2021
11:11
Thinness so far, excluding Aerosonic, so Aerosonic is .61. This is .63
11:20
So super, super repulsive. so let's tear the string off again if you want to check out the dedicated string review that I've done for this one go check it out here okay so as soon as we open up the string pack the first thing we have again super nice color I love yellow strings so they feel good so yes again this is very smooth so it doesn't so in terms of a string texture straight out the pack in comparison to BG80
11:54
you can actually feel. I don't know if you can hear... This is the X-bolt 63
12:05
So it's a lot smoother. It does have texture. It's just very fine
12:11
Again, as I mentioned previously, this thing is super, super repulsive. So that means it's a good, it's a good repulsive string
12:20
However, I do find that it's a bit stiff. So it has a lot more stiffness to it compared to the BG66 Ultimax, which has a bit more give and a bit more softness to it, especially off centre shots
12:33
I find it quite demanding. However, it sounds amazing. And yeah, the repulsion side of things is absolutely amazing
12:39
But one thing that really stood out for me was how durable this string is
12:49
We now go to Netany-G-98. start with the pros for now so in terms of pros this string when it first launched sounds absolutely
13:00
amazing and it feels incredible it is so pingy you know like it's it's it's it has a lot of high
13:07
pitched ping sounds to it again it's slippery perhaps because of the carbon nanotubes
13:14
but it sounds absolutely amazing it feels again medium feeling which is good for me again i would
13:21
say it's a six and a half six point seven five i would put it a touch stiffer than the ultimatx
13:29
only a touch not a lot more however one issue is durability so here it says its durability isn't as
13:36
isn't too bad but durability is was an issue for me um you would break this so easy
13:51
is the control category and this is the latest category that we have with that
13:58

14:50
Thank you again to YC Sports for sponsoring today's video. Obviously here we have my favorite string, my current favorite string, the aerobite
14:57
and then we move on to the aerobite boost before finishing with SkyAr
15:01
There's a missing string here, which is the Nanagin 99. I couldn't get hold of any
15:06
And here my SkyArk pack has been opened and strung as well. So I've personally not played with SkyArk before, so I can only tell you the texture feeling of that string for this time
15:17
Okay, so as you all know, Aerobite is. my favorite string of choice and there's a reason why I really really like the
15:26
control you get out of it it really bites onto the shuttle the string really bites
15:30
onto the shuttle and all of it comes from this main string and the thing that
15:36
makes Eurabyte great is the mains how sticky it is look at it so like I can't
15:42
really even pull it out without it sticking on itself this main string is really really
15:50
really sticky and it bites onto the grommets as well as your shuttle really well. In terms of
15:57
stringing, aerobite is one of the worst strings to string with because they're so grippy. But for
16:03
playing personally for me, I really absolutely love it. However, for the second half, the crosses
16:09
the cross of the aerobite, which is aerosonic. Erasonic is one of the smoothest string. It feels
16:16
very similar I feel to the nanogy 98 it's really not a lot of texture going on very
16:21
super smooth and it super fine so super high repulsion power and I think this is why they balance out really well So in terms of differences in diameter it 0 and 0 And again medium feeling it is medium but it slightly I would say medium stiff
16:41
It is stiffer than C6-6 ultimax. It is stiffer than the nanogen 98
16:49
I would say it's a step down in comparison to BG80. I would say this is maybe like 8
16:55
8 and a half. Good. So this, the white one will be aerosonic, the green will be the main
17:25
Again, the thinner one is again aerosonic and aerobite boost only comes in also limited
17:31
colours. Perhaps it's really hard to make the mains and so I remember stringing the aerobite
17:37
boost and this guy is also very sticky. I would say even more sticky than the main aerobite
17:44
but you can feel it's thicker and this is correct here as well so here it says it's 0.72
17:50
instead of 0.67 and maybe that's why I felt that it was a bit soft. Thicker
17:55
strings sometimes do feel softer although here it says it's hard feeling string and
18:01
sometimes thicker strings do feel softer but because of that slightly lack of
18:05
repulsion immediate repulsion off the string bed sky arc unfortunately i've not used sky arc before but when i was stringing it very
18:23
early on recently there is a texture but then it's it's quite a big bump in terms of texture it is quite
18:31
bumpy in in in some way apparently this is supposed to be like a super high-end beginner string so
18:39
it should really help people who are struggling to clear the shuttle back to back with super high
18:45
repulsive flexible string but yeah this this is super stretchy as well so this is what i remembered
18:51
from stringing the sky arc. I'll have yet to test the string personally, but in terms of stringing
18:56
I can feel that it's got bumpy texture, not quite close together, but you can feel it on your
19:03
fingers when you run it through, and it is very stretchy. So, yep, so the missing string here is nanogen 99 and energy 99 reminds me of a very steady
19:18
string actually, and it feels quite good as well. It doesn't bite onto the shuttle as aerobite does, but at the same time it is also nowhere near as thin as the ultimaxes or even the aerosonics
19:30
It is actually quite thick, but for a thick string, it has quite a lot of bite to the shuttle and it feels very steady
19:36
From experience the nanogen 99, it bites onto the string really, really well. It's just steady. I find it steady
19:43
The feeling of the string isn't very hard as well, so I would say perhaps it's a, I put it quite similar to the aerobite
19:51
but also maybe just a touch softer compared to the aerobite. I'll put it at maybe 7.75 in terms of 10 out of 10
19:59
The last string that we have today is the hitting sound. Hitting sound is a relatively old category that Yonix hasn't been releasing new strings for
20:09
Other strings that I remember being in this category is the BG 85 as well as BG 66 Sharp
20:17
which is famous because Li Chong Wei uses it exclusively for a long
20:21
long time. I do remember the string again, like I said, feels quite soft. Let's have the feel at the
20:28
texture. So BG68TI straight out of the pack, you can feel that there's a, there's quite a lot
20:34
texture on the string. It does feel softer in comparison to the rest of the pack, but that
20:42
shouldn't explain why it's soft feeling. But yes, it does feel soft when you're playing and
20:48
hitting, but I'm quite surprised it does break fairly easily, at least in my experience
20:54
Obviously the other strings, BG85, I remember, is a hard feeling string, crisp, very, very
21:00
crisp. I've not played with one for a long, long time, and obviously we can't get any of them now
21:11
Hope this gives you guys a good introduction to the world of your next badminton strings
